Lotus Eaters

One of the most dangerous capes on the Pacific coast. A shipwreck with 1/2 a million dollars worth of gold and silver sunk near here in 1870.
Volcanic headland, dry scrub, friendly local fishermen
the real treasure is the surf.

Opening of Southern California Artists Group Show

I was lucky to get involved and become a member with the Southern California Artists group thanks to Liz Menzies. We have a group show that's on display for two weeks, May 30 - June 14 at the Coastline Community College Art Gallery at 1515 Monrovia ave. in Newport Beach

The opening was a wonderful evening. My family and a few friends showed up for awhile (thanks) to check out the art and eat some food and we met a few of the artists from the group and view a diverse body of work from all the members. I'm stoked to be involved and participating with the group. I had one piece accepted into the show titled Sleepwalker and it seemed like I got positive feedback from those who talked to me about it!

Looking forward to participating with the SCA this year!

Kingdom of the Cardon

One of the great things about traveling and surfing is stumbling into things that you only could imagine of.

Ron Quigley surfing photos from 1981 Brookhurst st. H.B.

Ron Quigley
Im starting to digitize some of my old Kodachrome slides from 30 + years ago. I took these watershots of ron 30 + years ago.....the slides have dates on them and these are from November of 1981 at Brookhurst st. in H.B.  I believe he's riding one of Bob Hurleys shapes. Ron was a wonderful guy and I remember we had two things in common, surfing and the Arts.

Journeys North South East and West

Got to be stoked on surf trips that help define who you are.
trips where you make friends for a lifetime
where you find out who you can travel with and who you cant
surf trips full of mistakes
trips that you score great surf
a journey where you find out what your made of
trips where the surf never materialized
trips where you meet people you wouldnt ordinarily meet
trips where you see how other people live
surf trips where you get ill and feel like your going to die
excursions made by bike, boat, bus, car, plane, train, walking.
I had a surf trip the past two days in Huntington, a sandbar less frequented by the masses, my home break
with a few good friends
heavy offshore winds, 6 foot combo swell and only us out.
life is good.

Interview with OC Art Blog

I was stoked and honored to be interviewed by Chris Hoff the publisher and contributor at OC Art Blog. The site is a great resource for artists and anyone who is interested in the arts. Art events going on around OC,  as well as beyond orange county, there are reviews of art shows and interviews with artists living in orange county. Thanks everyone at OC art blog!
